    Goat soup or sopi di kabritu is a very delicious and popular soup on the islands of Curacao, Aruba, and Bonaire.


    Ingredients

    • 500g goat meat with bone
    • 1 lemon
    • 11 cups water
    • 7 small meat bouillon cubes
    • 1 chopped onion
    • 1 chopped tomato
    • 1 bell pepper chopped
    • 6 sprigs of celery
    • 1 clove minced garlic
    • 2 corncobs (each in 6 cut pieces)
    • 3 medium potatoes
    • 1 Suriname Yellow pepper (Madame jeanette)
    • 250g pumpkin
    • 1/4 teaspoon Goya Complete Seasoning
    • 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
    • ± 50 grams vermicelli
    • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of turmeric
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste


    Preparation

    1. Clean and cut the meat into small pieces.
    2. Rinse the meat in some lemon water.
    3. Cut the meat in cubes and bring the water to a boil.
    4. Then cook on a medium heat.
    5. Skim off foam and cook until the meat is almost cooked.
    6. Peel and cut the potatoes and the pumpkin into small cubes and rinse them off.
    7. Add the onion, tomato, bell pepper, celery, garlic, corn on the cob, potatoes ,and add the whole Madame Jeanette into the pot and let it cook on medium high heat for about 5 minutes.
    8. Add the pumpkin, the complete seasoning, cumin powder and add the noodles and let it cook for about another 15 minutes.
    9. Give the soup a nice color with tumeric and remove the yellow pepper.
    10. This soup can be a enjoyed with Funchi or french bread
